You don't need to sign up. There are no usernames, passwords or profiles in Kasper. Two phones are paired with a temporary room code.

For the phones to find each other, a short room code and a signaling service are used. The room code and related connection info is only active while the room is in use, and is removed automatically afterwards.

You can start video from the parent phone whenever you want to see the baby. Only then is the baby phone's camera activated. Audio and video are encrypted and sent directly between the two devices (peer-to-peer via WebRTC), do not pass through our servers, and are never recorded or stored by Kasper. Turning video off or ending the room stops the camera and video stream.

Microphone: used to send audio from the baby phone while the room is active. Camera: used only after you tap video on the parent phone, and stops when video is turned off or the room ends. Motion: used to detect activity locally on the baby phone. Notifications: used to alert you about sound, movement or low battery. You control permissions in your device settings. Kasper does not record, store or upload audio or video.

Motion and noise detection happen locally on the baby phone. Only small events (like "noise detected" or "low battery") are sent to the parent phone so it can alert you.

The log of events and sleep patterns is stored locally on the parent phone (in the browser). It doesn't leave the phone and can be deleted by clearing browser data.

Kasper doesn't use marketing cookies and has no third-party tracking or ads. No personal data about the child is collected.

You can end a room at any time, clear the log by clearing browser data, or stop using the app. There is no account to delete, because none is created.
