Privacy

As little data as possible is collected, and nothing is kept longer than needed for the app to work.

No user account

You don't need to sign up. There are no usernames, passwords or profiles in Kasper. Two phones are paired with a temporary room code.

Room codes and signaling

For the phones to find each other, a short room code and a signaling service are used. The room code and related connection info is only active while the room is in use, and is removed automatically afterwards.

Audio and video

Audio and video are sent directly between your two phones (peer-to-peer via WebRTC). The stream does not pass through our servers and is not recorded or stored by Kasper.

Sensors and local processing

Motion and noise detection happen locally on the baby phone. Only small events (like "noise detected" or "low battery") are sent to the parent phone so it can alert you.

Event log

The log of events and sleep patterns is stored locally on the parent phone (in the browser). It doesn't leave the phone and can be deleted by clearing browser data.

Tracking, cookies and children

Kasper doesn't use marketing cookies and has no third-party tracking or ads. No personal data about the child is collected.

Your choices

You can end a room at any time, clear the log by clearing browser data, or stop using the app. There is no account to delete, because none is created.

This text describes how the app works today and is not a legal agreement.
